Ecohesion Inc.: Sustainable Water Innovation, Caribbean-Born

Headquartered in Bridgetown, Barbados, Ecohesion Inc. specialises in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of sustainable water and wastewater treatment systems across the Caribbean.

The company’s roots trace back to its early days as New Water, before being taken over and reimagined by Sam Neilands and two business partners in 2013. Rebranded as Ecohesion Inc., the business began its next chapter of growth - with early regional expansion supported by Kodi Lewis, a longtime friend and collaborator of Sam’s.

Today, Ecohesion delivers high-impact, environmentally responsible water solutions in Antigua, Trinidad, Saint Lucia, Bermuda, and Guyana.

Dakota Ross partnered with Ecohesion, a regional leader in wastewater reuse, desalination, and drinking water solutions, to help transform how the company communicated its impact and vision for Barbados and the wider Caribbean. At a time when water scarcity is one of the island’s most pressing challenges, Ecohesion needed to move beyond technical proof points and engage government officials, industry leaders, and the public with a clear and compelling story.

Our work began with the creation of a comprehensive communications strategy that reframed Ecohesion’s role around the concept of Renewable Water. By segmenting audiences and aligning key messages to their specific priorities - from government ministers seeking transparency to communities looking for practical solutions - we built a narrative that elevated Ecohesion’s expertise into a national conversation about sustainability, resilience, and innovation. This strategy was supported by a toolkit of content and activations, including presentations, video stories, media engagement, and panel discussions, designed to maintain momentum and trust.

To complement the strategy, we designed a large-scale wall infographic at Ecohesion’s plant. This immersive visual experience turned complex engineering into an accessible story, guiding visitors through the journey from “pollution to solution.” By integrating physical equipment, clear iconography, and real-world success stories, the wall transformed technical processes into a powerful educational and advocacy tool. It became a centerpiece for government tours, helping decision-makers see and understand the value of investing in renewable water solutions.

Together, these initiatives repositioned Ecohesion from a behind-the-scenes technical provider to a thought leader in sustainable water innovation. The combination of strategic messaging, visual storytelling, and experiential communication has strengthened Ecohesion’s credibility, increased government confidence, and elevated the company’s reputation as the Caribbean’s trusted partner in building a renewable water future.
